Thierry Maillet (Ph.D., ESHCC, Erasmus University Rotterdam) is a Post-Doctoral researcher at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He is a historian of the fashion business during the 19th and 20th Centuries in the Western Hemisphere. His work focuses on the role of intermediaries. Dr Thierry Maillet is currently involved in on a HERA funded pan-European research project, The Enterprise of Culture, which investigates the transnational dimensions of the European fashion industry in the post-war era. He took his PhD at L’École des hautes etudes en sciences sociales (EHESS), Paris, which was about the role and functions of fashion prediction companies in France between fashion and textile (1825-1975). In addition he has published a book on the history of marketing (2010) and several articles on luxury goods and marketing.
