Abstract
Making use of the unknown
There is nothing certain, but the uncertain. Constant shifts in the economy, fluctuations in market environments and ever-evolving trends in fashion, oscillate between individuality and conformity.
Whilst we begin to ground ourselves in a field or subject, the university environment nurtures opportunities to ask risk-taking questions, encouraging you to seek answers from experts and professionals. We are inspired to further our knowledge and capabilities. We are offered support when mistakes are made and rewarded with strengthened passions.
I am constantly learning about how my passion for fashion affects environments; both in worlds I can see and those that I cannot. 20,000 litres of water is required to process one shirt and one denim from growing cotton to the production of the finished garment. More than half the water associated with clothes purchased in the UK comes from countries where there is water stress or scarcity.
The future of fashion is uncertain, but we can certainly make use of the unknown. Buy Smart. Give Smart. Be Smart."
